DDscrafts Fabulous Fifty Birthday Blog Hop

First off I want to give Debbie a BIG HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY!!! 50 is FABULOUS and all us ladies wanted to celebrate with her today!! If you have stumbled across this hop and want to start at the beginning , please head over to Debbie's blog. If you have come from Vicki's blog then you are at the right party  Blog.
I really enjoyed making my project. I have seen crafters using toilet paper rolls for mini albums and thought they were so CUTE. I even purchased some from Emily Lanham over at Create Serendipity, so that I could see some close up and personal. So I figured I can do this. So I decided to make a toilet paper roll gift card holder. So fun and FAST to make. I really like the idea of recycling, so it even made it better for me.
so I started out with the roll and cleaned the tissue off as best I could, and flattened it out. I used my bone folder to get a crisp edge.
Then I used some acrylic paint in turquoise and painted all sides and put double sided tape inside one opening and crimped it so that it would stay closed at the end. Then I used my circle punch and punched out an opening so that you could pull out the insert easier.

I looked thru my scrap stash basket and found some pretty turquoise and brown paper and some brown ribbon. PERFECT! I love when I can find scraps to use on a project.
I used the paper on the front and back of the roll. Some prima flowers hot glued, and a Happy Birthday sentiment on a scalloped tag. I made a tag  to adhere the gift card to and stapled the brown ribbon on the edge to help pull out the card. Voila. toilet paper gift card holder. So now its time for you to recycle!! Have Fun!! Now your off to party with Crazyabout Cricut.

And remember in order to be a winner of Debbie's giveaway, you must leave a comment on each blog , each day.
